Rainier Boidin s'éprit de quelques thèmes universels et du Iangage des signes et des symboles. Pendant plusieurs années, il s'est consacré à l'étude de la technique chinoise de l'aquarelle. Il a suivi l'enseignement de l'artiste Su-Tao, qui l'initia à cet art, en ayant toujours à l'esprit la suprématie de l'unicité et du contrôle rigoureux du mouvement.

Wij hebben jaren geleden met grote verbazing kennis gemaakt met de grafiek van Boidin. Die verbazing was in grote mate te wijten aan de monumentale vormen van zijn werken en aan de complexe taferelen die er op virtuoze wijze op stonden afgedrukt. Herhaaldelijk heeft Boidin bewezen een uitmuntend graficus te zijn die zijn vak schitterend beheerst en een barok verhaal leven kan geven Nu verschijnt hij als een begaafde aquarellist of beter gezegd wellicht als een kalligraaf die opnieuw verrast omwille van zijn geslaagde durf, zijn sensibiliteit, de soepele en als vanzelfsprekende manier waarop hij die breekbare discipline hanteert.
